The competition seems so very long ago when the Fens pipped me at the post to win. I played the Acoustic Stage at 3:10 to a good crowd. Really enjoyed the buzz and seeing people enjoy dance and sing to my music. I then was able to announce that's I'd been given the 10.30 slot on the GFM stage they could see me twice! I'd not been to the gathering before and was pleasantly surprised at the organisation and cleanliness of the site. It had a great family vibe with a superb mix of music from all the stages I heard that the JayWalk stage was a hit all day & Kane rocked the silent disco. Local band UK:ID paid homage to Mike and played a great set, a real mixed vibe! Scouting 4 Girls topped off the evening. It was good to catch up with other local artists seeing them perform. I met some of the main stage acts too. It was good to talk music. Mike Daniells has been very kind to helping me progress my career offering a foreword for my website and also the chance to play a bigger stage. We are so lucky here in this pocket of the South West to have such a vibrant music scene. I will be slowing down come September '16 - June '17 as I have GCSE's but a new single will be released in Nov '16 & an EP is planned for June '17 when I will be back full on to the circuit for the summer festivals.
It was just over a year ago I was inspired to start writing songs. I had met the Alabama Shakes who were very down to earth and wanted to talk music. Having seen them & James Bay, I thought This is what I want to do. As you can see by my gig list from the last year I went for it.
Playing Glastonbury was awesome thanks to Brad Lister for the billing at the Fluffy Rock Cafe and Charlie Miller Theatre & Circus Green Room and being complimented by Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze having just had his moment on the Pyramid stage was amazing. We sat and chatted for a while, it's so good to be able to talk to these artists with such experience.
I'm INSPIRED. What next? Well I have a full summer planned with gigs home & away. Really looking forward to the Godney Gathering 16th July playing at 3.30 on the Acoustic Stage. Thursday 28th July playing at 100 Monkeys Cafe Glastonbury with Tolly Snell. I'm in the studio recording a few songs at the end of July one for my next single release around November time then an EP late spring '17. The next 11 months will be mainly taken up studying for GCSE's next Summer. So there will be less gigs whilst I do this.
I'm in Spain at the moment so you might find me playing one evening, Adios for now...
Young chap finding his feet, likes the finer things but on a lemonade budget, for now!
