Bath was heaving with the bustle of Christmas shoppers, as we made our way round the corner of the Abbey hearing a guitar this was my 1st stop of the day. North side of the Abbey by the fountain. Lots of firsts today having just bought my first amp to busk & gig with the day before I set up in a slightly windy spot. Lucky I brought sellotape too! So the mic & stand set up, check, amp on, check all plugged in check 12pm away we go…. After some adjustments it was sounding OK. Baptism of fire! I had an hour here, thanking people as they dropped coins into my case. I was mobbed by the med team whom I knew. I’m so glad it was not cold but it was windy, now I wish I had a radio mic to I could move about more. Next year I will add some Christmas songs seems to get the crowd going.
After a swift lunch at an Indian near by we moved on to Bath St near Primark. Totally different vibe, got on well with the stall holders one of which gave me £10 as he liked my music so much! So many amazing stalls with everything you can imagine for sale, great gift ideas. I really enjoyed this little spot shielded by the stalls from the wind. Swiftly moved on to the Abbey Green Arch, totally different acoustics and very transient. Did I enjoy busking in bath I would do it again after speaking to some of the Artists, there is a meet at 10am to decide who plays where. So you may see me there again.
Young chap finding his feet, likes the finer things but on a lemonade budget, for now!
